Cayo Siete Hermanos Monte Cristi
Cayo Siete Hermanos are seven small islands which are located 6.21 miles off Monte Cristi which are called Terrero, Monte Grande, Ratas, Muertos, Arenas, Tororú y Monte Chico.
It is a unique place for diving, snorkeling and fishing. The place is frequented mainly by fishermen and by local and foreign tourists who come to enjoy the fantastic beaches.
Cayo Siete Hermanos are formed by coral sand with beaches, exceptional seabed, mangroves, unique vegetation. Many seabirds and migratory birds come to nest in these islands. It is a unique ecosystem in the Dominican Republic.
It is a site that has been declared a habitat/species management area as a wildlife refuge.
Tour agencies organize tours of the islands departing from Santo Domingo and other cities in the country.
