Description
The Boca del Diablo (Devil's Mouth) in Las Galeras is a natural geological phenomenon in which the sea rushes in, forming a jet of water that can rise to several meters high. It is a high hole at the top of a cliff about thirty meters high.
When the sea is calm it is the wind which rushes in and it makes a castling sound hence the name "devil's mouth", when the sea is rough it is the waves which rush into the fault and it forms an impressive water jet. The rougher the sea, the higher the water jet, the sea pressure generates jets of water and foam.
La Boca del Diablo is one of the must-see tourist sites in the Samana Peninsula.

La Boca del Diablo is located between Santa Barbara de Samana and Las Galeras on the side of the path that goes to Playa Fronton (Cueva de Agua). Access is not very easy, it is a dirt road that runs along the coast to the tourist site. The site is isolated, in the close surroundings there are no restaurants or colmados that allow you to buy a drink or other.
