Description
The Cathedral of San Felipe Apostol is a Catholic church, it is located in the historic center of Puerto Plata (Independence Square), in the north of the Dominican Republic.
The church was destroyed by fire, rebuilt it suffered several earthquakes, it was completely restored in 2008. It is built in a modern Victorian style. It is one of the most visited churches on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.
Inside there are 12 columns, stained glass windows and a large altar in the center. Outside the Cathedral of San Felipe Apostol there are two bell towers and three large entrance gates.
It is a high place of prayer for Catholics in Puerto Plata.

The cathedral is located in the historic center of Puerto Plata, José del Carmen Ariza Street. The church is open every day. Masses are given at a fixed time.
