Description
This museum is dedicated to the Dominican journalist Orlando Martinez, member of the Communist Party who was assassinated in 1975 under the government of Joaquin Balaguer.
The museum features a gallery of the journalist's personal photos that have been collected throughout his life, photos of his parents, siblings and other relatives of the journalist. There are also clothes, books, personal documents (passport, identity card, electoral register, birth certificate) and the typewriter on which he wrote his articles for the newspaper "Now" of which he was the director. .
It is a place to visit that traces the recent history of the Dominican Republic. Many middle school, high school and college students come to visit the Orlando Martinez Museum in San Juan de la Maguana.
