The Candido Bidó Art Museum is located in the town of Bonao (province of Monsenor Nouel), a flat area located far from the sea and with views of the mountains that form the central cordillera where the sun blends with the cool breeze of the countryside. This museum was completed in 2004 thanks to the collaboration of various local institutions and people determined to create a space to store the works of art collected by the famous Dominican painter Cándido Bidó. In particular, it is the product of the work of Cándido Bidó himself, who in 1987 founded a school in the province of Bonao, the subsequent construction of which will become the museum that bears his name.
The museum consists of three levels, plus a basement, which houses an important gallery that ranges from Taino, African, National and Latin American painters, as well as historical pieces by Bonao. However, the focal point of the pictorial exhibition is the work of painter and teacher Candido Bidó, whose work can be found everywhere, starting with the facades of the buildings themselves.
The museum carries out an important program of activities such as the organization of workshops, conferences, conferences and exhibitions. The Museum also organizes one of the main biennials in the Dominican Republic, the Biennale de l'Arte de Paleta de Nique, which is sponsored by the company Falconbridge Dominicana.

The Candido Bido Museum is located in Place de la Culture in the city center of Bonao, close to other places of interest and shops of the city.
It is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
