El Quemaito Beach - Barahona.

A beautiful family beach.

El Quemaito beach is a beautiful and wide beach that is located south of Barahona, about 20 minutes away.

It is a pebble beach in the Caribbean Sea, the sea is usually calm, the water turquoise and warm. The beach is big, it's easy to find. The landscape is magnificent, between sea and mountains.

There is parking (for a fee) and small restaurants that offer Dominican cuisine (fish, chicken, lobsters...) and drinks.

Like many beaches in the Dominican Republic, El Quemaito beach is very crowded on weekends, holidays, and during school vacations. The other days it is much calmer. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the province of Barahona.

Please note that depending on the period there may be sargassum.

The beach is easy to find on the road from Barahona to Paraiso, about 15 minutes south of Barahona. It is more than 3 hours by car from Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.
