Macao beach (Punta Cana)
Macao Beach is located north of Punta Cana, it is one of the few public beaches on the coast of coconut palms in the Dominican Republic. It is accessible by car, about 30 minutes north of Punta Cana.
It is a large white sand beach with coconut trees that has not yet been invaded by resorts.

It is very popular with locals and is also a crossing point for quad or buggy excursions. But as the beach of Macao is very big it is easy to isolate a little noise engines buggies and quads.
Macao beach is very wide and is located in a large bay so it is well protected, the sea is often calm and is shallow.
There are some small beach restaurants.
It is a very nice beach and very quiet, except when buggy and quad arrive!
On the beach of Macao you can practice surfing, Macao Surf Camp.
A few small hotels have settled near Macau Beach (Macao Beach Hostel, Macao Millon).
