Villa Isabela - Dominican Republic

Villa Isabela is a small town located in the province of Puerto Plata, about fifty kilometers from the capital of the province.
This small town is part of the history of the Dominican Republic because it was the first city built in America by the Spanish conquistadors. It was made up of several stone and wooden buildings. It was quickly abandoned in 1500.
The main tourist attraction is the historic national park of La Isabela which traces the history of this locality.
The hotel offer is very limited with only a few small hotels.

La Isabella National Park

It is a set of ruins dating from the discovery of the Americas and a museum. La Isabela was the first villa built by the Spanish conquistadors.
